Bose stereo question...do I have it?

I searched for this, but couldn't find an answer. Even checked the vague original Brochure for the car.

I just bought a 2005 997 Carrera, and the door Panels have the Bose emblem on the speaker grilles, but there is no rear sub as far as I can tell. There certainly isn't the "step up" with the seats down, or visible ports. Also the Options code sticker in the manual does not list 680 on the list for "bose Surround" I'm starting to think that all the 997 door panels have bost on them.

Cab or coupe - the sub on the cab is in the front passenger kick panel (left knee).

Mine show the Bose logo and I have the Bose upgrade with the sub is in the passenger footwell. I assumed you couldn't have one without the other. Any indication the speaker grills were replaced ? Maybe one got damaged so owner replaced both with Bose covers or both door panels ? Ithink all panels would have the Bose logo if it didn't have the rest of the system installed.

It's a basic coupe, and nothing in the passenger footwell. In regard to the cover being replaced it looks pretty original, but my car is in pretty good shape. (very minor scuffs on the door panel).

forbes210 is infamous around these parts
I think basic and premium sound system are made by same manufacture which is bose. I'm assuming that premium package got different speakers (they still might look the same) and subwoofer. I got a coupe with premium sound package- bose logos on a speakers and subwoofer behind the back seats. My friend got coupe from the same year without premium sound package- bose logos on a speakers without subwoofer.

^^^ that would make a lot of sense. The only thing that points toward a Bose stereo is the little badges, everything else says no.

Oh well, it woulda been nice. Guess I will be getting an exhaust sooner than later. LOL

Considering usually Porsche tacks a zero on the price of what an option should cost...yes.

I'm starting to think a lot less cars have the Bose System than people think, just because of the door logos. Maybe that is why it gets a bad rep. What do I know, I'm pretty sure I don't have it.
