911 Carrera S Badge - 991S Badge on 997S
911 Carrera S Badge - 991S Badge on 997S
I'm getting some work done on my car, new decklid etc- i want to get the new badge that says 911 Carrera S for my 997S (not the P O R S C H E part-just the 911 carrera S) - looking for it in Grey color not Chrome-
looked and didn't find online or at bumper plugs..any ideas?
I know i can buy the 911 & add rest, but i'd like to find it all in 1 strip so its easy to apply & even

For the 997, the "Carrera" and the "S" are two separate stick on parts and can be positioned as needed. Look closely at the "Carrera" script - all the letters are connected but the "S" is separate. I'd bet the 991 handles it the same way: the "911", "Carrera" and "S" are all independent emblems to be positioned as needed.
In your case I recommend buying the emblems, painting them before applying to your liking with spray paint from the local auto parts store (I've used Krylon to paint my "S" red), and then applying. During application use some masking tape along the bottom to give you a reference line. Use pencil on the masking tape to mark positions too.
Overall the project is a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10. Just be sure to use light paint coats that fully dry between coats.

I thought about doing this to my car and taking the GTS from the cayenne or panamera, but wasn't sure if the GTS emblems from those two would be the same size as the 911 Carrera emblem.
Thanks for the replies guys, i talked to Eric at bumper plugs said i have to buy the 911-carrera & the S all seperate & get them painted because they are only made in the chrome- i want that dull silver greyish looking one like what i have on my black 997 now.
I took all the parts, Front Bumper, Side Skirts, GT3 Decklid, Misha Rear GT3.1 bumper to Elite Paint & customs- They will start on it first week of January- probably drop the car off around the 3rd & hopefully get within a week after that

i didn't even ask him- i may just buy the badges & have the shop thats painting my Aero Kit do it- i dont like that shiny silver chrome- i like the dull-greyish silver. its looking like the parts alone $100 ..may not even do it- i'm already 12k over what i paid for the car in freaking upgrades
I like the looks of the new 991 except for a few minor styling changes they've made. One of my few (personal taste) criticisms is that Porsche has added too much badging on the rear deck of the new models, but since you won't be adding the Porsche letters, it should look great. A friend of mine (also a 6SpeedOnline member), did a beautiful job rebadging his white Carrera with a "997S" on the deck with the "S" in red.
Are you planning on making a template to position the letters precisely, or will you be free handing it?

JB, I'm completely de-badged and the only one I remotely considered was a 997. But I could not find it. Where did your buddy find the 7? I know I can get another set to cannibalize the 9 off of it, just don't know where to get the letter 7?
Realizing this is a couple months old, if you still have the Carrera S in chrome, I'd be interested in buying those from. I have it in the satin silver or brushed look and if that's what you're looking for, and still need it, we could swap. Let me know.
