Advice and suggestions regarding service

I have an 05 C2S with 22K miles. I have had it for almost two years. Purchased it as a CPO car and I haven't experienced any problems. My service light just came on so I scheduled a visit with local dealer. Not the dealer I purchased from. What should this service include? I change my own oil so I don't need them to change my oil. What should I have checked? According to previous service records the car still has original belts and hoses on the 10/04 build. Can the techs check the IMS without tearing into engine? Brake fluid was flushed in 10/10. Advice/suggestions please.

You have low miles on a 7 year old car. You service schedule should not be based on mileage but on age. If you are a DIY I would get this kit: http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...=997S_MAINTKIT and a drive belt plus a brake flush and maybe a gear lube drain and refill (6 speed) Or tranny flush if on a tip. I would also have the waterpump inspected and a coolant flush.

I am a big believer in proper maintance and the car will last a lifetime!

Agree: Service should be based on age, not miles. Use the broad Porsche manual guidelines and SPECIFY clearly when you speak with your tech exactly what you want done at each major service interval. You're paying good money to keep a fine piece of machinery running like a Rolex, so insist that all bases are covered. The only exception I make to the mandated Porsche oil change services are to use Mobil 1 every 3-4,000 miles. I drive hard and often (so miles rather than time intervals apply more in my case) and believe that pure, all-part lubrication is vital to both enduring performance and engine life. It's axiomatic that a high performance engine and drive train need expert servicing. My rule with high-revving 4- and 6-cylinder sports car engines, especially with manual trans-axles that are used as designed (frequent, rev matched, snick-snick shifts) is keep changing that oil!
