2nd gear pop

hi all,

bought a 997 c2s cab 2006 CPO.
when I test drove the car for the very first time at the dealer I had the 2nd gear popping out when releasing the clutch. I didn't worry about it as this was the very first time I was driving a porsche, I might have done something wrong.... it append only once in a 30 minutes test drive.

now, I have put about 3000 miles on it and the 2nd pops out once in a while, it rare, but still anoying. mainly when downshifting.

can this be covered by CPO or it will fall into abuse by previous owners?

thanks

I would bring it in under the CPO and let them decide....

CPO should cover the fix. That is not normal and you should get it looked at as soon as possible. Good thing you have the CPO!

Not normal. You might try a different dealer if u aren't satisfied with your first/primary dealer.

Many decades ago, my 280z would pop out of 2nd gear, especially driving downhill. The z-forum mentioned it was worn gear due to abuse.

Hopefully, yours is different.

I think the 2nd gear pop out was more common on the 996.

Could be a simple cable adjustment, but I'm curious to hear what the dealer said.

I sounds like a worn out synchronize. This often the result of a lot of aggressive shifting. It could possibly be a mis-adjusted cable, as well.
