Not loud enough: Gundo done. What's next.
I've done Gundo a few months ago. I like the sound.
I actually found it a bit loud in the beginning but now I want to go louder.
What would you recommend as the next step. High flow cats? Resonator bypass?
What's the best bang for the buck?
P.s.: A friend of mine has a few full exhausts that I could put on but I would like to do this step by step. I'll swap my exhaust if and when I get bored.

Does your "friend" have a set of headers for sell?

I am having a 2" Gundo being done as we speak and will also have some HJS 200 cell sport cats put on later this month. I hope that does the trick on my 996

Nasty not by sound volume, but by tone. The tone, when cruising slow around town, is clearly serious. Without being overly loud, it's obvious that there's power there. It is definitely not raspy, and there is zero cabin drone.
It's a low and deep exotic burble at low sped. As RPM's rise, it turns into a growl, then a howl, then a vicious scream at high RPM and WOT.
Here is a video of when I had this combo with the SC. The SC gave it a higher pitch whistle at times, but this is still pretty much how it sounds..

I was in the same boat as OP. Did Gundo first, wasn't loud enough, so added EVOM airbox, X51 headers and AWE cats in one shot. Loved that combo! Felt it was civilized enough at low RPM but crescendo'd linearly to 5500 revs, where it boomed perfectly. Here is a video of that setup on the track:
