997.2 coupe subwoofer removal for fiber filling
Subscribehas anybody done this mod? heard it improves the sound of the so called premium sound system we have. how do we remove the subwoofer on our 997.2 coupes? there is a mod similar that some have done to a caymand at planet9.
I did this mod on my bimmer. It tightened up the sound a bit but not a dramatic difference.
Does anyone have the instructions to remove the Bose subwoofer on a 997.2 C4S? It appears the subwoofer is located in the rear hatch area, not the front passenger foot area.
Thank you in advance!

remove the two ducts. you will see a screw on the bottom portion. simply unscrew for both sides and pull sub woofer housing. very simple

Thanks Rick. So just to be clear, the two ducts pull straight out? And then, that will expose 2 screws?Originally Posted by slicky rick

Yup you got it bro
Each duct will expose 1 screw each.

Awesome. I'm going to look at doing the Bose subwoofer mod by adding some fillers in the subwoofer chambers.Originally Posted by slicky rick

I'm hoping this will make the bass sounds more clear/dynamic

I did this on my 997.1 where the subwoofer was located near the passenger footwell and the results were good. I'm surprised this won't work as wll for 997.2
Well give a shot bro, maybe for you the change will be enough. Its really so easy and does not cost much.
