Which TPMS sensor to buy?
Which TPMS sensor to buy?
Hi Folks,
I need to buy an entire set for a 2007 997 S and I have come across a plethora of different vendors selling TPMS sensors that come either in black, blue, or orange.
Which one should I buy?
Porsche 911 Carrera - 2006-2008 - TPMS - OE Replacement Tire Pressure Sensors
What is the expected life of these sensors and how does one reprogram them to the TPMS computer?
Thanks!

Buy OEM from Suncoast. http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...=997S_wheelacc
Battery life anywhere from 4 to 7 years.
Owners manual tells you how to reset.

Life is supposed to be 4-5 years but it varies. In my experience... P-cars = lucky to get 4 years.
Anywho, late this summer my everyday and track wheels needed replaced at same time
so needless to say I looked for alternatives...
Chris Green@USP (a board sponsor) offered a nice deal on universals which came coded and worked seamlessly. Had them installed on wheels and system learned on it's own in a few minutes of driving.
Here are the ones I needed but Chris will tell you exactly which you need:

Good luck

The modern sensors, from what I've heard, are only powered when the wheels are in motion (presumably inertial activation of the power ), so shelf life and sitting in the garage don't reduce lifespan.

Then why do I get a TP indication before I start out?
I was perusing the tech sheets for the VDO "universal" replacement sensors that I just installed on my Jeep, and this is true. They go to sleep after not moving for awhile, and re-awaken when motion resumes. By the way, I bought them from Amazon and they were about $34 each, so shop around. Google VDO's website and it'll tell you which model number you need. Then check Amazon, Shopzilla, etc. for the best price. My TPMS system learned the new sensors within a few miles without any programing, resetting, etc. I hope this helps...

The Redi-Sensor is by far the most advanced and accurate TPMS sensor on the market. Too many details to go into but one is the power savings modes ensure the longest life of the sensor vs. the competitors.
got mine OEM beru from tire rack for wife's 07 Boxster S- no problems- TPMS had issues setting up initially cause i had old sensors in the car with me- soon as i removed these it set up in minutes.
The VDO Redi-Sensor is not yet released for European makes. It is under testing now and should be available in 2014.

Correct, that's why I said it is not yet available for European makes but will be In The second half of 2014.
The color of the sensor makes no difference, the proper transmission/signal rate does. We have what you need, just give me a call. Thanks.
