Please help me identify leak

Just noticed a tiny bit of red fluid under my car and decided to take a peek. Anyone know what this is? Can I just pop-off that cover and replace the gasket?

I would say it leaks about 6 drops a day.

Red is transmission fluid. Not sure where that is leaking from. It's close to the RMS, but that would be an oil leak. Gonna look at an exploded view when I get home.

Not RMS. That is closer to the center of the engine. This is on the right rear side, very close to oil filter and header. Engine is dirty to to wintery roads, so not a very good picture

Are you sure it's red and not pink? Pink is coolant, in that area. Coolant would be slippery to the touch and somewhat sweet smelling.

The best way to confirm the color is to blot it with a paper towel. Tranny fluid will be red on the paper. Coolant will be clear to slightly pink.

Good info... I will check. It is a slight leak so I will have to check in the AM.

I just picked up car from dealer today.

They did confirm it was a coolant leak at some time, but could not find a source. They then topped off the system and applied 15lbs. pressure to it for almost an hour and found NO LEAKS.

NOTE: When I noticed the leak both times the temperature in my garage was well below freezing.

As of now I will keep an eye on it as they were not able to find a leak.
