Gundo Hack Done

Had the Gundo hack done yesterday. Work preformed by Blue Grass Mufflers here in Louisville. I took pictures of Fister modified mufflers and asked Alex, the owner to do the same with my mufflers. It was his first time to mod P car mufflers. Fisnished product looked great. Very pleased with the workmanship. Sound great on the car. Louder under full throttle than I expected, but sweet sounding. No drone. I paid a little more than most have stated they paid, but I think it was worth every nickel spent.

Keep in mind that the 'price' is just for the fabrication. All in, mine were right at $500 after factoring in tax, shipping to me, and shipping the cores back to Darin. There was a shop here locally that said they could do mine for $550, which included removal, fabrication, and re-installation, but I was not sure what the quality would be like. I am VERY happy with Darin's work. I figure I saved $50 because I did the removal and installation myself.

seems like alot of money, I took mine off myself and paid 200 for the weld..I was told guys paid even less. All in all it s worth the money for the mod. Much more enjoyable driving the car.

I went to Meineke and the manager said they don't have stainless steel pipes (too expensive to stock/use). He offered to use regular steel/metal but cautioned me it might corrode or deteriorate quicker.

Still hunting for a shop that can do my Gundo.

I ordered the stainless pipe myself and had it sent UPS to me, then I took mufflers off and just took them to a welder and explained with a pic. Just an idea.

If you don't mind, where did you buy the pipe? what was the pipe gauge? How long was the pipe for both mufflers? Estimate price?

Thanks.

There are so many threads regarding gundo hack but I can't seem to find the actual how-to thread with instructions. Anyone care to share link to this thread please?

double check me but I think I used 304 stainless... can be ordered online or picked upat a local supplier. Example.
http://www.atlanticstainless.com/pro...tube-fittings/

2 inch , maybe a 10 inch long piece should do both sides. Cost was about 50 bucks.... I ll try and locate the original thread.

Keep in mind that a Gundo hack will result in worse gas mileage!
