Anybody in Raleigh/Cary area with a Durametric Pro cable?

Folks,

I am looking for a good soul in the Triangle Area (Raleigh/Cary/Morrisville) with a Durametric PRO cable to reset my Airbag Alarm light on my 997.1?

I have the Durametric enthusiast but it does not do anything for Airbag Lights.

Please let me know. Thanks in advance.
Yves

What happens when you try? I just ordered the enthusiast cable to do exactly this and was told it should do the trick.

Maybe you're not accessing it correctly... on this page is a matrix of what the tool will do, and not do:
(v6, but v5 does the airbag reset as well.)

Well, it is quite simple: the Durametric program detects the fault (in my case, it tells me that the Side Passenger Airbag Light is defective - Normal, as I removed it and turned on the ignition by mistake). I clear the fault using the Durametric function for that purpose. Durametric returns a message saying that the alarm has been cleared. However, the Porsche system disagrees and keeps showing the alarm.

If I try again to clear it with Durametric, the same sequence happens one more time. Conclusion: with the Enthusiast cable, no clearing of the AirBag alarms can be done. It is all bogus, no matter what Durametric may say.

By the way, I have cleared other alarms on my 997.1 with the Durametric Enthusiast and I know that it works. I also use the latest version V6.1.something.

Maybe something in your SRS system is actually broken. That is, after all, the purpose of the codes.

I just wanted to follow up since I got my Durametric Enthusiast cable yesterday and after digging out an ancient laptop (it didn't work with my fairly new Asus), I was able to clear the code and the light on the dash went out the next time I started the car.

The light was on as I had to switch on the ignition to move the gear selector while installing my new center console and of course the airbag light in the center console was disconnected at the time which triggered the light. Note that my fault code sounded a bit different, something about a short circuit (I should have written it down before clearing it!).

In any event this may not help the OP but it worked for me!

Interesting you should ask, at this last Sunday's coffee meeting at Jason's Deli, I was suggesting to Kevin (PCA Hurricane region 2012 president), that we should get one for the club and have a loaner program. What do others in the RTP area think?

I had a similar issue with the airbag light on my 06 997 S. Bought the Durametric cable, and it would not clear the codes. Durametric said that I probably had a faulty part in the Airbag system, which I did. Took it to the dealer and found that I had a faulty airbag sensor in the front. They had to remove the bumper to replace it. They said that was the first time they had encountered that issue.

Regarding the loaner program in the Raleigh Durham area, I think that is a great idea.

+1 for the loaner idea. I need one to reset a service reminder on my 06 Cayenne S, is there anyone in Raleigh that has one and doesn't mind?

I'd be interested in a loaner program as well
