997.1 Cargraphic sport exhaust HELP!!
997.1 Cargraphic sport exhaust HELP!!
I bought a used Cargraphic sport exhaust from a guy who had it on his 997.1. It says its supposed to fit all 997.
Description:
2010 Porsche Carrera 4S 997.2 Cargraphic side mufflers Also fits 997.1 Carrera & S Mint condition and use only 5,000 kms Deep sound and gain performance 100% stainless steel made
Problem: when I tried putting the mufflers on my 997.1, the muffler pipe to the cat is the SAME size, so it wont fit in. I was thinking of taking to a custom muffler shop here to get it welded. However, I read online somewhere its not recommended to weld to a stock exhaust, is this true?
How can I get this on to my stock cat?
Thanks!

Steve might be right. On the 997.2 the side mufflers connect to the center muffler. On the 997.1 the mufflers connect to the cats. It's possible that both systems are dimensionally identical. Clearly, I don't know. Here are the two parts diagrams:
997.1

997.2
997.1
997.2
So would I just need a sleeve coupler? It also seems like it wouldnt JUST go up there since the pipe to the headers are in the way. Its either that pipe has to be taken out and put in between the two muffler pipes or something. Any help is greatly appreciated!

- I'm kinda upset because the description said it would fit the 997.1. I had to pay an extra $53 for customs, which was a surprise. What's going to be more of a pain is if I dispute this, eBay/PayPal can pay it back to me, maybe it'll take awhile, but I hav to pay the return shipping. If it cost about $150-200 to ship the exhaust here, I'm guessing it'll be the same there. I was hoping to take it to a muffler shop in PA and hopefully they can put it on for me. That would be the best way since I know their work, and they're good with pricing.
I also emailed Cargraphic to see if the muffler is interchangeable between the 997.1 and 997.2.
