"Check rear fog light" error!

Hi 6speed family,

Was wondering if anyone here has the, "Check rear fog light" error after they installed Rotec's DRL's. I searched the forums and read 19 pages but no one has the same error as me, only the "Check front side light" error, not sure if it's the same issue. I brought these lights from a forum member, looks great, everything works but I get the annoying error. Help is appreciated.

TIA.

You installed front DRL's and the rear is giving you this error? You may need to install the resistor to prevent this. I have the front and I get an error for the right front...but I think it's a connection issue I cannot figure out because I switch them out and I don't get an error. Get a hold of Rey at ROTech and see if he can help you. I'm using the DEPO brand rear's, which are similar to theirs and I have not gotten an error.

Yes, that is correct, installed the front and getting a rear light error. I might email Ray, thought I asked the forum first. I also have the LED rears if that helps. I didn't need resistors before, maybe I need them now. I rather put resistors in the back, they were much easier to get to. Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I thought that was a bit weird myself. I had the rear LED's for a long time before I installed my DRL's. I didn't notice the error until I turned on the engine. It was fine when I tested it (engine off). I think I might the resistors in the box still but never used it.

I only get an error on the passenger side and when I switched them no error. However it only happens while the car in in motion. When I switched them out left to right and right to left, turned on all the lights...no error...only when moving. So this makes me think there is a connection issue I'm having, but I cannot nail it down. Also, it only happens when my lights are on..when the switch is in the home position the error doesn't come up.

I installed the ROTech resistor's but didn't resolve anything.

WEIRD.

Update, I installed the resistors they came with the rear LED's and the error went away, drove around and the error never came back.

Here is a couple of quick shots I took, when I got home.

I think i'm having the same issue, i installed both almost at the same time, only an hour apart, but now i'm thinking the error only came on after i installed the front DRL...

Texas-T is infamous around these parts
Me too

I am having the same problem with a 997 that i just bought. It has the gt3 front bumper and LED turn signals on the front, and LED tail lights. I don't know if the resistors were installed by the previous owner. Where can i find the resistors that you guys are talking about, and where do they go? I assume i just need to solder them in somewhere?
