Defrost panel removal?

Hi All,

Does anyone know how to remove the defrost panels/grates, under the windshield on the dashboard? I am assuming it is as simple as pulling out the trapezoidal speaker cover in the center of the dash and then sliding them out towards the center of the dash, but I want to be sure before I attempt it. I need to get them out so I can stuff a boatload of felt behind them and to the sides...have to cure an obnoxious squeek and rattle...

Thanks all!

Pete

Lever out the centre piece, then lever or pull the trims up the way.
They are located into metal clips in the dash.

I removed the A pillar trim first, as there is a small metal hook that holds the defroster trim at the base.

Arr - i was hoping I wouldn't have to remove the A pillar trim, as (knowing me) the less I have to fuss with, the better. Can they be removed without takng off the A pillar trim, or is tat a must-do?

Thanks guys!

Pete
