CD changer removal
I've been doing a bunch of searches, yet haven't figured out how to simply remove the changer. My car has a Tooki and NAV TV installed already, although I did not install it. I occasionally get a CD changer missing error on the screen. I'd like to just pull the changer and run a bypass cable set, but can't figure out how it removed. The front bolt is obvious, but I can't figure out how the back of the bracket is attached or how you remove it. Can anyone direct me to to right diagram or instructions? I have an '08 turbo. Thanks!

(unless they installed it already bypassing the changer and they just left the changer there)

Right, thanks. I know I can get a bypass loop for about $30 from Bumper Plugs, but I need to know how to get the thing out before there is any need to buy the cable! I also wonder if it is still in the loop at all as I'm getting CD changer missing error messages. I think I need the bypass cable, but then would like to just pull it out and sell the changer as well.

If you're getting the "CD Changer missing" message, it's because the PCM is looking for it, but can't find it.
That would say it has been bridged out of the MOST loop.
No need to remove the changer unless you need the space. The message will still appear.

Exactly, I want the space. I have a case that will fit the trunk only if the changer is gone. I fully understand about the MOST limitations and know there is a MOST cable bypass available. The front bolt on the bracket is easily accessed by removing the plastic cover. But how do you access the back?

Closing the loop on my request. Well, you remove the plastic covers on the CD changer, then the plastic cover on the Bose amp and nav units. Even then, it appears that the amp would need to be removed to access the CD changer bracket. I'm bummed. It would be great to get the extra front space by removing the useless CD changer, but it is just too difficult to remove. I've looked at the amp and it appears to slide down into the bracket, but I hesitate before messing with it. Hate to play with it and then have a system code or have my stereo quit working and need a dealer visit as a result! If anyone has done the removal and has straightforward advice, please let me know!

I'm stuck at the same place. Got the plastic cover off the cd changer (there are 2 clips - one towards the front of the car which lifts up and one towards the back that goes up and out towards the middle of the car). Removed the front bolt of the CD Changer. The back mount is still on there and don't see any bolts.
How do you remove the back bolt of the cd changer to remove it? Do you have to remove the Nav box and Bose Amp first?
Thanks,
Paul

Didn't see any pics from you. The bose amp/nav cover pulls up and out as well. However, the access to the back bolt on the cd changer didn't improve; it is under the amp! I believe you need to remove the amp as well. I would love to pull the changer and sell it, but it became too much hassle and I abandoned the effort. If you are successful, please let me know!

According to the manual there should be a bracket on the back of the cd changer. There are 2 bolts that hold it to the car, and 3 screws that connect it to the cd changer. I have no first hand experience with this, just relaying what's in the manual.
Good luck

Yep, problem is that the turbo has the Bose amp and nav unit mounted directly behind the changer. The amp cover snaps on at the top and pulls straight up. Even with the cover off, I see no way to access the bracket securing the changer. Not even sure if you can get it after taking out the amp!
