11mpg 100% city driving
Seems reasonable.
My 07 C2S gets betweem 10.5 to 13.5, 100% ctiy driving short trips.
Cold startups in the morning and later in the evening. The car's computer programs ir to run richer when cold, the same function as the old chokes

Oh and I have a 1000$ gift certificate from Porsche that I can use at any dealer until April 1st 2013; the trick is I have to use it up all in one visit.
My car is fine other than the low mpg and a faulty trunk lid switch. It's got about 47 000 kilometers (30 000 miles), any ideas on what I can use it on? Perhaps preventative maintenance?

Yes lots of stop in go, I work downtown and live 10 minutes away so it's almost always this type of driving. I have a regular 325HP base Carrera though, not a 355HP ''S''.
I think the mileage you're seeing for your driving is normal. I was a bit surprised when I got my car too, but everyone told me that with short trips in traffic (e.g. 100% of my driving...) the mileage would never be that great. Allegedly I could crack 25 on the highway, but I have yet to take a long trip in it.
If you live 10 min from work, then your car never warms up either, I would factor that in. When I had the S, I got a solid 12 around town and 15 combined. I never shift below 4k. Now with the turbo I get 17 combined. Exact same driving. Go figure. Also, do you drive with the Sport button on? That will suck another 1 mpg, but increase the fun factor 2X!
Hey, if you really want a good time, get a GTR. Same driving, I got 9 mpg around town!!! Combined with highway driving it moved up to a whopping 13. Even more pathetic than the M3 was, but at least the GTR had a bigger gas tank!

With a C4S(X51) I am experiencing 13.8mpg (17l/100km) for sedate driving, trying not to press the loud pedal or sudden urges to blow off traffic. But it's not sustainable, no matter how I try. My S350 Merc doesn't get much better. The norm is 8.7 mpg (27 l/100km), this means several 5K to redline bursts. Don't worry I thought there must be a hole in the tank too.
