Best summer tire for daily driver?

Hello. What do you think the best summer tire is for daily driving for a 997 C2? In priority order, I am looking for low noise, good tread wear, safe in the heavy rain, and OK performance. I have asked two independent shops, the dealer, and tire rack, and got 4 different answers. I just bought my car 1200 miles ago and it has Pilot PS2's. They handle well but are loud and have a low tread even when new, so I don't trust them in wet weather. People tell me I will be lucky to get 15000 miles out of new ones, but I don't know. Thank you for your help.

I think the 'general' consensus here will be the Michelin Pilot Super Sports as the best all around tires. Low noise, good wear, cost vs. performance, etc. I've got them on my lowered 997.2 C2 with 19's and very happy with them so far.

Pilot Super Sports for sure. They even come with a 15,000 tread wear warranty

I've got 20K on my PS2s right now and they're not even down to the wear bars. Hard to believe since I spin up the rears every day and don't baby the car or tires.

Supersports here too on my newly acquired C4S and i was running them too on my C2.

Excellent tires for daily driving, excellent tread even for the rain, and they are gread even for AutoX and DEs... Plus Tirerack sells them now for less than 1300 dollars per set!

Am i correct to assume that they are much more comfortable, responsive and less "bouncy" then the stock tire?

Which stock tire? 997s have been fitted with different tires from the factory. My PS2s (stock) have no bounce, and grip better than the PSSs I mounted to my 997.1 S back in 2011.

I have Pirelli tires run flats n rated. When I'm driving around freeway/street there is a noticeable vibration, bounce and road notice. I'm wondering if this is because of the tires or something else??

You sure? I don't know of anyone who makes a runflat for a 997. Tire Rack shows none available by Pirelli or anyone else.

N rating doesn't mean run flats. It means the compound is specific to Porsches.
