It's a real shame they are losing the trademark red stripe across the rear.

And if they don't clean up that interior, well, let's just say I'll ride the '04 a bit longer.

 

its really hard to tell that is is a widebody at all.

remember the controversy awhile back when soemone snapped a spy pic and no one believed it was wide?

the red stripe and lack of the vents on the trailing edge really create a lack of differentiation.

 

the 997 was already so much wider than the stock 996 , so the S4 is not that big a difference but for me this difference makes all the difference . The 997 C4S is absolutely beautiful .... I think the 996 will go down in Porsche history as a mistake ( from the interior to those awful headlights) like the 90 - 94 models .. it is nice to see this company back on track .

 

So hard to tell in a photo, but so easy when you are sitting behind one. THere is no mistaking the width of a Turbo or C4S and this one is even wider. I think the buyers who get to see that fat a$$ sitting in their garage will be quite pleased. I will definetly spec one out before signing off on a 2S.

Put down the glue and walk away! The 996 has been the best selling 911 ever! I love the lights and the interior as do so many other's on this board. The 997 I am sure will be a winner but to bash the 996???

 

I disagree, I don't like the 996/Boxster headlights/interior. Sir Budman, I've seen you in this forum "bashing" the 997 in the past. Only you said you weren't bashing it, just voicing your opinion.

 

I cant wait to get my 997 TT - i cant stand how bored I am of the look of my 996 TT - the 997 is soooooooooo much nicer INMO
