I think back in the day they would allow to run with no helmets if you run over 14 secs or something...

A Helmet is not bad. Extra safety

You are right. I did not get a chance to try it because of a busy track. Will do in the near future.

Pdk launch control is still fun despite what the "purists" say

High 11s is definitely possible looking at OP's mph. With a "perfect run" 115mph would get you 11.82s.

Has any 3.6 PDK owner done a 1/4mile race yet? So far the only evidence I can find is this video done by best motoring posted above.

Well I agree with you. The car has a high 11 no doubt.

I am planning to go to the track again before the end of the year and try. I have the feeling that the PSM really bogged the car down. I will try it with the PSM off next time.

Goin this Friday night to 75/80 Dragway.

Motorweek uses this track for its show.
Last weekend for the track, before it closes forever!

I took the car again to the track last Sunday. Not at Etown but Island Dragway...

Temp in the low 50s i believe and basic track preparation and quite windy... The best i could get was a 12.1@114... I ran the car 4 times and i ran anywhere from 12.1 to 12.4...

I tried
PSM off, SSPAM on
PSM off, SSPAM off

To the date my best result, the 12.0@115 was with PSM on, SSPAM on...

At least now i saw that the car is a low 12 sec car no matter what...

A couple of videos...

Nice videos. What was the tire pressure? May need some cool weather to help you get that magic 11.99.

Close to 36/38 psi...
The problem was that there was too much waiting time between runs and there was no way to heat up the tires...

I am running Hankook RS-3s which they are quite slippery unless you actually put heat on them...

My best run was the 1st one where it was within 15 mins from the highway with 1.77 60ft...

All other runs where with a 60ft over 1.8... And i guess with PSM off the car had trouble to really hook... My mistake is that i did not try again with PSM on just to see if it would make a difference...

The launch is very easy... stage the car slowly. As soon as the second set of lights is on, I stop and left foot brake. When the Other car stages and you see the lights starting to light up, floor the gas all the way... the car will rev to about 6500rpm and hold it. At green release the brake as fast as you can and just hild on!!!!

Tip: do not activate the launch control as soon as you stage... if you dont launch within few seconds the car will cancel the launch sequence and you will have to start all over again and probably lose the race!
