Just out of curiosity I went to Etown to run the car...
Temperature 40 degrees.
Car: 09 carrera 4s pdk launch car
Mods: BMC air filters, awe secondary muffler delete...
Weight with me in at the track scales 3665 lbs. I weight 257 lbs...
Time first pass ever: 12.03 @ 115 with an average 1.79sec 60ft...

I might do another pass in an hour or so to see if I can do a better 60ft... It is still cold and the car had some wheel spin... PSM is on if you are wondering...
I will have some videos when I go home...

A manual car is much harder to launch. My previous porsche was a 6sp but i never took it to the track... I would not be an easy car to launch hard...
The car before that was a 06 EVO IX with plenty of horsepower and an aftermarket ecu which would allow for launch control... The style is similar to the PDK but much harder to regulate the clutch for the ideal clutch slip...
see an incar from my EVO... you will notice the similar rpm hold from the ecu and then the launch...
Does anyone else feel like its cheating to take a PDK car and drag it? With similar environmental situations it should clock very similar times every time. IE your comment about a cave man being able to do it. Seems to take all the fun out of it.
Though it is nice to know what it can "officially do" at a track. Thanks for posting.

we have seen that with the new GTRs, the Porsches and every similar new technology car...
I remember back in the day with my EVO that you have to adjust tire pressure, adjust launch control, regulate the clutch, hold the car with the handbrake, etc, etc....
The purpose if this Etown visit was to test this technology and Porsche's claims.
I still can't believe how these cars run these times with "only" 385bhp!!!
A helmet to run a quarter-mile in a street car? Is that required?
The track I used to go to did not require helmets but then again that was a while back. I wonder if that has changed...

Is there something that you are not telling us? Lol!!!
What 60ft?
The car definitely has a high 11 pass. No doubt! I might have my cousin drive who weights 145 lbs! Hahahahaha
