Advice needed...PPI at dealer?

When I purchased my current pcar I had the pleasure of having a friend that was a Porsche mechanic. His advice was my PPI.

I might be interested in a different car, should I have the selling Porsche dealership do PPI? (I don't want to ask same friend since the potential car is out of state) I would think that is conflict of interest...

BTW, potential car is a 2010 and CPO certified.

you want someone independent of the purchase to perform the PPI. you want a totally unbiased view.

Depends on how bad they want to make the sale...but you have to ask. Dealer is probably going to say "why" since it is a CPO...you'll have to decide how much risk you're willing to take.

Forget PPI at the dealer that sale the car. They will obviously say that everything is perfect..
Look for the closest Porsche dealer and set an appointment for a PPI.
Then go see the dealer that sale the car and tell them you took an appointment to a competitive Porsche dealership for a PPI.
In my case they were upset. Apparently there is a "war" between both dealers (30 minutes drive between both) they tried anything to convince me not going. Once I sad “anything to hide?” they stopped *****ing and gave me the key
The other dealer learned it was a car coming from another Porsche dealer. ( I told them)
The sales manager tried to convince me to look at their car while the PPI was getting done. I declined and followed the car very very very closely as it came in the garage.
They lifted the car and right away they spotted a oil leak between trainy and engine and a plugged tire. Sale manager showed up and say “drop the car, no charge. Come and see our cars.” Which I declined, again. and they found the climate control acting-up. Everything else was good.
Went back to dealer with PPI result. They kept the car overnight to get their tech looking at the oil leak. They never find anything, nor did I. I have the car for over a year now, droved 7k+ miles, stored 3 months, bone dry. I believe they found a way to spay old before the PPI…
They drop the price $5k, added $1000 worth of goodies. And fixed the climate control unit.
