New exhaust! Now do I keep the stock or sell it?
I just got a fabspeed exhaust and tips for my 997.1. Now need your opinion on keeping the OEM exhaust to put it on if I ever sell the car, or sell them? I really have no room for them to be lying around. Question is if I ever sell the car will people be hesitant because it doesn't have the stock exhaust? Also if I do sell what is a reasonable price for a stock exhaust with oval tips included?
Sell the stock part dude. Depending on how long you keep the car and the wear and tear on the Fabspeed exhaust, You may have a harder time selling the used fabspeed exhaust versus a stock part later. Aftermarket exhausts are always evolving and will make for a difficult sell later separate from the car. You will not have difficulty selling a 997 with the sports exhaust. Yes, there are a number of people out there that prefer their cars to bone stock, but the flipside to that is, that there are many people out there who want to buy cars with some modifications.
On top of that, you don't have the space. Save some headaches, gain your much needed space back, and avoid hoarding unnecessarily.
Enjoy your car

on my last car I did many mods and when it was time to sell it, I WISH I had kept the OEM parts to bring the car back to stock. I basically had to write off the money for all the add-on parts, which I could have sold separately for some nice money
Keep it, I love aftermarket parts, but I buy cars Stock unless I knew the owner. I agree most will want the car stock when it comes time to sell. And I disagree that the stock will be easier to sell than aftermarket. I think you will be able to sell your fabspeed easy as long as your aware you will make 50 cents on the dollar.

Stock 997 exhaust are selling between $150-$350 depending on the condition. IMO, for that price, I'd keep it. Like most of the comments above, it's always good to keep the OEM parts. It adds value when you sell the car later when you can say that you have the original parts. Or you may decide to put it back later when you get of the Fabspeeds. Been there done that!!!
For reference, bought a 370z, added Big brakes, coilovers, $3000 stereo, etc. after a year, the dealer said, "can you restore to stock and we'll buy it?"
In summary, having both aftermarket and stock parts will allow you to have full market audience.

if you have an S, you may get more for your tips selling them separately. no one will want to ship a stock exhaust, unless they want to do a gundo on them, but the tips are easy to ship. tips can range from as much as $150 to $350, depending on whether they want them sold quick or not. aftermarket tips are not cheap, so stock tips hold some value. again, if you have the room, keep the stock items. they're worth far less now than they may be to a buyer of your car that wants it in a stock configuration. plus, stock cats, stock headers and stock mufflers are worth next to nothing. out of curiosity, i followed an auction for a set of S headers and the auction ended for $0.99 + shipping.
