Clutch "squeak" under hard shifting
Clutch "squeak" under hard shifting
recently picked up a 09 CPO C2S with 9100 miles ... after finally getting used to it, ive begun pushing it a bit harder and noticed something that might be weird.
On a 1/2 shift the car easy chirps the tires , but im noticing that on fast 2/3 shifts im getting what almost sounds like a squeak when the clutch bites.... Its been a bit cooler the last two night so its possible that the tires are chirping going into 3rd but its this faint squeak noise ... on a fast 3/4 shift its quiet.
The revs are dropping off quickly and I don't even remotely hear the rpms raise like its slipping ... is it normal to hear the engagement of the clutch? Or should i be concerned that this is the beginning of a clutch issue. Aside from that i dont sense the slightest issue with the clutch
TIA

Here's my suggestion: if you are dropping the clutch hard enough to chirp the tires on a shift, then you are abusing the drivetrain. This kind of behavior will just end up damaging something.
