How does the AWD work?

Have not been able to find a definitive answer as to how the AWD actually works on my 4S. Is it 60-40 is it 70-30 50-50 ? Does it only work when the wheels start to slip? is it all the time? I have had other AWD vehicles as well as 4WD vehicles and had a working understanding of them, but no so my P car. Anybody have the answer?

What year is your 4S? Google 2006 Porsche C4S review and you'll find your answer for the 997.1 models. In summary it's 5-95 and can go up to 40 up front when you slip, below is one article. If you read the rest, it's similar.

Thanks Ynot that's what I was looking for. So it gets from 5 to 40 percent depending on traction to the front wheels.

well, all the weight is on the back wheels so pushing more than 40% of the power to the front would do what?

Remember, its not an off road vehicle where you may need to lock the diffs and pull yourself up via only the front or one side... its a sports car.
