I have a 2009 Carrera S with a PDK and Sport Chrono. Lately, when I put the car into reverse, there is a delay where nothing happens, and then it drops into gear with a big thump. Not all the time. Perhaps 1 out of 5 time I select reverse. Any ideas? Clutch? Hydraulics? I have not noticed any anomalies in forward gears yet.

mine sometimes has a delay, especially if I'm quick to go from 1st to reverse (which is always from 1st in manual mode).

 

If you are still under warranty take it in. I have had my PDK reprogrammed x1 due to a different issue. Perceived transient rpm surge after going slowly over speed bump. Not dangerous but wanted it looked at nonetheless.

 

Have it checked....you can a have a problem with just one gear in an auto transmission including the reverse gear
