stupid gimmick... are they doing parts bin culling already? its only been a year for the 997... i wonder what it will be like when they are ending the 997 series.. probably will have over 50 variations availible.
one of 50 - numbered. X50 Option that puts out more HP than a GT3, built to honor of 50 years Porsche Club has been around. Doesn't sound like parts culling to me. Sounds like a nice way to say thanks. At 99K this car is a deal!
i signed up, but i doubt i'll end up with one, i saw the color in person, and it looked pretty nice (imo) very metallic, i was only interested because of the hp boost and the fact that you can order it with whatever interior color you want, an also with whatever options you want, of course that will change the price!
The Club Coupe is an awesome car and I think it looks good in that color... But I would never buy it, unless it was available in other colors.
IMO, Porsche should made them in Gaurds Red.

I am the only one on the board that sees an opportunity here. I signed up for both the give away and the to buy one. Since these are only offered to club members, and limited to 49, 48 for sale, 1 giveaway and 1 to be kept, I think there will be others that will pay for the rarity of the car.
Sure you can make a point that someone could order a car similar, but the true collector would want only the original #ed cars.
A few examples of cars made out of cleaning out the parts bins:
1994 Faltnose 3.6 Turbo
1994 Speedster
Both sold for a premium and Faltnoses are still bringing in strong money.
I hope everyone in the club feels this is a stupid idea, if I win it, I laugh all the way to bank and get there very fast.
