Air Filter Install

Does anyone have a link to a good step-by-step for a DIY air filter install on a 2006 911S? Thanks!!!

Simple-enough and 6Speed has a good write-up. We offer instructions as well here:

Just to add to those great instructions, make sure you put some kind of mat or towel so you wont scratch the paint while you try to remove the airbox. Also, they are a few more hoses attached to my air filter that I decided not to remove. Just carefully place the box on the ground close enough to the vehicle, so you wont break the hoses. It's very easy!

One item the DIYs I read failed to mention is the air filet is secured by rubber body grommits on the bottom of the filter housing. I had my air filter in and out in 10 mins my first time ( and was quite proud of my achievement!)

When finished I took a few steps back to admire my work and looked down under the motor to find the 2 large rubber grommets laying on my garage floor, Doh, extra parts!!! Not good. Apparently when I pulled the filter housing out, the grommets came out of the body with it, then dropped to the floor without my noticing,

It was a quick removal/reinstall (this time with the grommets in place) but I had wished I had a heads up on thees previously.

What about the rubber hose to the right that is attached to the bottom of the airbox.

If you've got an S, then there is a vacuum hose connected to the airbox on the right. The vacuum hose controls the sound resonator.
