997.1 Interior LED list

I want to add LED's to my 997.1 Interior (and license plate light) . Is there a list of the LED bulbs types? I usually order from superbrightleds.com

Thanks
Jeff
PS - I did a search and found a list for 997.2. I'm not sure if they are the same.

They look pretty expensive compared to some of the guys on ebay. Have you used any of their canbus bulbs?

I ordered from them before. I actually don't remember, I just used a list off the internet for my other cars and installed them. I'm not sure if I used their canbus bulbs or not. I do like the flexibility of colors they offer.

I found this
http://www.uspmotorsports.com/Porsch...iorLEDKit.html

The price is ok, I just like to pick my own colors, illumination angle and such.

Don't want to freak you out or anything, but search canbus leds on ebaymotors. The set you referenced is $120! It's amazing how much you can get these little LED's for.

Sure but 3 years ago when I bought mine, they were much pricier.
And all the work was done by getting a kit.

No different than those who bought Detanes at the beginning.

I know it always hurts the most in the beginning. I'm a huge fan of LEDs and when I wanted them in my kitchen 8 years ago the prices were prohibitive. Now you can get strips of LEDs at IKEA for $20. I must say that kit for $120 is insane. The bulbs are all from China, although there must be some quality differentiation, it's going to be tough to find the "better" ones. The bulbs are basically $1-3 each (especially if you don't need ones with resistors) and you need about 12 of them. I just bought some canbus ones on ebay (for use on parking lights), so I'll post how they turned out.

I'm a big "do it yourself type". All LED's are not created equal. A lot of trial and error. More then just color temperature. Several factors, lumens, angle of the led projection etc..

I did a roll your own with a car I restored.. a DeLorean. What a pain. Some worked, some did not. Some required changing a relay or two. Some require a load equalizer.

I'm happy to throw a few bucks to a guy that figured it out already. I've got many "wrong" LED's in my cabinet.

But best wishes. If it does work, post your findings.

PS - For me.. Most everything I got off ebay has been pure cheap crap, except for Pcar people parting their cars out. (AWE Mufflers and Rims)

Hey Jeff, you are very right! The LED's I got for the front corner lights of my turbo are a couple mm too long and don't fit. Almost broke the lense putting then in! They were $12 for 4, so I just put 2 in my map lights. Ordered a different set of 2 last night for $5.
I totally agree that most stuff on eBay is crap. The difference with this stuff is that there aren't any "quality" LED's, I don't think. They are all made in China. I agree that there might be some trial and error, but the initial set I got from a shop didn't have resistors and threw the warning light. They said they just do. Took me 5 min on eBay to find ones that don't. Hopefully the new ones will seat deeper in the socket and fit correctly.
I'm not so crazy about the LED's, but I do like them on the front corners of the turbo. For license plate lights and stuff, I don't think so.

Curious to hear about the max speed set. I note that the t10 LED's have only 3 LED's. They are available with 5 LED's. The size is identical.
