That's super cheap. Pump itself is $270 and plugs are $105 and that's without labor

Agree. Too bad I don't have access to his mechanic.

I wonder if his mechanic did it for free because porsche antifreeze is $35-40 a gallon. For $400 that leaves nothing for labor...

I'd check to make sure he actually did any work... =)

FYI, when I replaced mine, I just added iirc less than 1 gallon of Porsche antifreeze. I bet he did not flush the entire coolant system.

And unless someone tells me otherwise, I plan a full flush at 100K even though the coolant is supposed to be life-time.

I saw your earlier post. I plan on changing just the water pump (not the thermostat). Would I still have to remove the exhaust components (cats and mufflers)? I don't see how they get in the way of the water pump...

Yes, I had to remove the cat/exhaust. I'm unsure why others didn't have to but my layout required the removal of the cats/exhaust. Btw, mine is a C4s just in case people wondered.

Removal was ez-pz so don't let that stop you. Just apply anti-seize compound on the exhaust nuts and bolts for subsequent removal and installation.

I've done my muffler and cat more times than I can count. I'm just lazy =) maybe the C2S doesn't require removal

Hehehe. We are all lazy by nature. We are just dictated by our disposable income AND how cheap we are. I save every $ that I would be giving to the mechanic and invest or reward myself with it.

I also treat working on cars as "stretching exercises" and keeping me away from being a home wrecker. Jk
