3" Exhaust piping on 997.1 S

Just wondering if I will notice any significant loss of power if I go with 3" exhaust piping vs 2.5"?

Did a search and only found answers for the Turbo but not for the Carrera S.

Thanks for the help!

Well I DON'T want to do that, but my fabrication guy is saying it won't be too noticeable of loss but I'll gain more top end.

Our cars are not exactly torque monsters to begin with. Unless you are building for the track exclusively and constantly keeping the engine on full boil, you'll miss that loss of torque on the street.

I wouldn't put 3" exhaust on a 911
Even with a muffler bypass the power loss was noticeable & annoying because my fun with a sports car is gunning it from a stand still or a slow roll
The low end loss of power & torque would be too great & the upper end gain isn't worth it.

you are going to hate it. you will loose a good amount of torque. face it when you say you want to gain in top end. where are you consistently drive 175 mph plus. if your car was a turbo then its worth it but not for a n/a car.
