the wierdest thing...
the wierdest thing...
was just looking at 964's on autotrader and almost every private seller ad ended with "title in hand"...what IS dat, as a friend of mine used to say... i'll have to check other models and see if its a 964 thing... weird...
it means they have have clear title to the vehicle. The car has been paid off and is presumably owned by the holder of the title, i.e. there is no lien on the vehicle by a financial institution, etc.
Its attractive when selling a car because there are no additional hurdles of having to pay off the lien holder with monies received from the sale of the vehicle to receive the title, which can take several weeks. (I won't go into title theory vs lien theory states, that just complicates things).
Basically the seller just will sign over the title to the buyer and then the buyer registers the car to him or herself in the state where the car is to be registered. Its a good thing.

yes, I know what it means...it is just the wording and stating the fact, and I would imagine with an older car it is something that is more common than newer cars that are often more expensive and a loan is involved, its just weird man, and all stated word for word the same, twilight zone s##t man...
I've sold my share of cars and motorcycles privately that were paid off,...never once noted Title in hand!
I too think that is strange.
I first thought... it's New Lingo learned by scammers from Nigeria.
