H&R Springs: what is the real drop for a 997.2?

I am in the process of deciding whether or not to install the H&R springs on my 997.2 C4S with PASM.

The issue at hand is the real drop that this springs will provide.

According to my mod guy the drop will be 0.80" rear and 0.75" front. By the way, this are the drop figures that show in the H&R website.

If these numbers are accurate, I don't see the benefit of the springs since the wheel gap in my car is close to 2 inches and the drop they would provide is not sufficient.

On the other hand, forum member "sandwedge" was kind enough to sent me pictures of his 997.2 C4S which is identical to my car, and you can tell the drop was more than 1". "Sandwedge" also told me that the drop in his car was considerable and that the gap is almost gone.

Could it be that H&R is being conservative in his numbers?
Has anyone done this mod in a 997.2 with PASM and care to share the drop results?

This is 'sandwedge" car with H&R springs

go with eibach.. the h&r drop is too aggressive for just lowering springs. in addition the h&r's are notorious for sagging over time.

i just installed them on my 997.1 c2s and you can no longer see the spring perch which i like

I have a 997.1 with PASM, fender gap is almost completely gone, I'm happy with it.

"Too aggressive" in terms of what?

45,000 miles on H&R's on my -06 and 32,000 miles on my -09 with H&R's. No sagging on either one.

I'm a former H&R spring user and I will not use them again. They are too stiff and they actually drop your car 1.2 to 1.4 after they settle.

I've just bought a set of Eibach's for my Carrera 4 as they only lower the car 0.8 to 1.0" once settled.

I've been on the fence about lowering as well...997.2 with PASM. My opinion is I'm strictly doing this for looks and IF I do it, I want results and don't want to see a 15mm drop and try to justify it. If I do it I want my fender gaps to look like the cars shown above...and NO less. Honestly, I'm pretty happy with my cars stance now and I'm guessing with another 400 lbs of humans IN the car it sits lower when we're driving it. A buddy of mine said he saw me across the stop light from him and said the car looks low as it is. And it looks awesome from behind...which is the view most see anyway. :-) That said, the cars above look GREAT sitting still!

Sandwedge and Ynot...you guys both running spacers? Or different offset wheels?

5mm front, 7mm rear. That's with HRE wheels which have different offsets than stock, at least the rears since stock rears need 15mm.

I finally lowered the car with H&R springs. It is a 2012 997.2 C4S.

The OEM height of the fenders were 26.75" front and 27.5" rear. The final drop was 1" front and 1.2" in the rear. I am very satisfied with the aesthetic results. The ride is just a little bit harsher but no more. The car seems more stable than before.

I hope this info help others who are in the fence regarding the H&R springs

I had H&R springs on my 3rd gen RX7 and hated it period.

The C2S currently ride on Eibach, much better.

Of course two different car.

Go with what you like.

Sorry for the late reply, never noticed it until now. My previous wheels, I had the factory 5mm and 7mm spacers. With the iForged I am running now. I don't use any spacers at all.
