19inch wheels to 18?

I know everyone wants larger wheels but I am considering dropping down from 19 inch wheels to 18 on my wife's '08 C4 widebody. It is her daily driver and she never pushes it. I like the greater selection of tires available in 18 inch, ie; continental DWS, Nitto. We've run the DWS on her SC430 and loved them. Quiet, smooth and long lasting.
Does anyone have any input as to a downside to this strategy?

I see no downside, probably upsides to ride/performance.

DWS not made in 19s?

thanks for link to 19inch DWS." I just over looked them. I have the TPMS but I don't think that should matter.

Tire Rack search doesn't show the DWS for C4s since 19" OEM size is 305 in the rear, DWS come in 295 which is C2s size.

You can still put on 295's.

I am not a BIG Wheel fan, but for some reason every time I see a 997 with 19's it just fits the car perfect. I would take 18's over 20's, but think 19 is ideal.

Good Luck

I'd like to see a C4 widebody with 18's before i drop that much money in new wheels. How well would the 295's work on the C4(2008)?

Discount Tire's tire calculator answered my question. The difference is negligible. The 295 will change speedometer by about .6mph.(65 to 64.4)
