Looks reality good, man. Loving the wheels with that kit. Really good choice. What are they, again?

Wow! Great work. Is a rear wing planned?

Thanks guys!!

In regard to a rear wing, I've been considering it... I am kinda going for the 993 or 996 4S look. Wider and more aggressive, but wingless. At this point I am happy with that, but maybe in the future.

In my humble opinion, I agree with you. Not only does it look better, but a big wing writes checks that a base Carrera can't cash, and it goes off into poser-land. Everything so far is purely well done aesthetics. You didn't even put the nose vent in the front bumper, which I commend you for. Wings are about function, not form. Again, my 2 cents. I think you've done very well.

I love the look of the car completely, although I don't agree that adding a wing with this car would put it in "poser-land" especially given the nose of the car, and of course there's no badge that says otherwise. Aside from all this, I think it's very tastefully done and making it his own. The exhaust work looks first class. I'd love to hear an audio of it.

X - great point on the 993 type of look! Beautiful machine and perfect execution!

I appreciate that, but I think you misunderstood.

I'm not saying that a wing would be pretending to be a GT3 or whatever, thusly posing. But a wing is a piece of functionality for a car that needs extra stability over a certain very high speed (depends on shape of wing). The excellence of the 911, all 911s, is that they have no fluffery. They are function and then form. Those that start to put form ahead of function, especially the kind of form that hollowly displays a functionality that isn't there, is posing to me. Again, all my opinion. I say we keep our cars clean, stylistically. Let all checks have the funds to back them up. This car with a wing would not do so.

It's good to know my "style" is not out in left field.

So after seeing Carrera997re 's Ducktail thread, I'm thinking about adding one of those. Perhaps I will wait till he is all done.

It's nice to get compliments from someone "in the business", makes me think I am doing it right.
