Color question

Narrowing the available choices for my budget on my first P. Looking at two cars, similar equipment, close in cost. One is Red/Black with a CPO warranty. The other is a year newer, Arctic Silver/Gray with 8k less miles, nicer wheels, but no warranty (I could purchase an aftermarket one). It'll likely wind up a couple grand more than the red. Is the red a good thing or bad, when it comes time to sell/trade? The silver seems too common (like my Toyota) but it is classic. Is the red too much like a "toy" even though it's a "big boy toy?"

I appreciate your input!

Get whatever speaks to you. Porsche silver is very nice. 911s look good in red.

Between the two, I'll take the silver. But as they said, whatever you want.

I have owned all colors. Black would be the best for "super queen treated car"

As of this minute, I am super happy with my dark blue car.

Can't go wrong with guards red IMO. Classic 911. It does stand out. I love mine.

Be sure you choose what you like because you'll have it for a substantial amount of time. I wouldn't want to get in my car and think 'jeez think I should've bought the other one'. Or here's another thought, what's your favorite Pcar color that you would like to own? If it isn't one of the 2 above, wait for the color you really like and go for that. There's a lot of cars for sale out there if you broaden your search.

I had a 2006 arctic silver with LTS Lipstick red full leather. Still was bored with silver very fast and would never order that color again.......much too
common.

On my next Porsche I went the other way with PTS very uncommon color & I love it. I also love Guards red and between those two colors would choose red all day every day. Go with your gut....it sounds to me like you want the red one so do it!! It's a gorgeous and classic color!

Good Luck!

Tom

Color is a subjective thing.
Pick what "speaks" to you.

When I was searching around for a 996 a few years ago, I badly wanted a black one. But then I came across a Red/Black car and had some initial inhibitions. But when I went and saw it in person, I fell in love with it. It is a bold colour. My 997 which I bought recently is also Red/Beige. I chose it over a Silver 997S because I felt that silver was just too bland for a 911 - its not an ordinary car, and so definitely needs some fanfare :P I'd say go with what YOU want - not by resale value, quicker sale etc. Red is a rarer colour, and who knows.. if many silver cars are being offered for sale at a later point, the Red might fetch you more money.
