Wheels: Avant Garde VS Wheel Dynamic
Wheels: Avant Garde VS Wheel Dynamics
Thanks Sleek-sam... Didn't know about the spline key. I would prefer a wheel which uses the OEM style bolts. Why do they use this type of hardware?? It seems like they would want to use the factory stuff.
I think they use the spline key because how the wheel is designed. If they built it to accept the oe lugs, the center area of the face would be thicker and the spokes would have to be shorter. Its just an aesthetics thing. Besides for having to use spline lug bolts, the Avant Garde/Ruger Mesh wheels are offered in good offsets, have the proper hub size, proper brake caliper clearance, TPMS sensor compatible and accept crest center caps. Its a good wheel for its money.

I have received very good feedback on the A/G Ruger Mesh wheels but have not heard anything regarding the Wheel Dynamics 808 wheel. I am leaning towards the W/D 808 because of the fact that OE style wheel bolts & center caps are used. The price and quality also seem to be about the same. Does anyone know about warranty and product support for these wheels?? Thanks.

I had personal experience with WD in 2010.. What started out as a pleasant buying experienced turned sour a year and a half later. I'll leave it at that.

I've been trying to decide between the Forgestar F14 and the Victor Equipment Innsbruck. Both are rotary forged, but just as above comments stated, Forgestar take about 8-10 weeks, and the Victor Equipment are readily available (they are owned by TSW wheels). The concavity of the F14s is absolutely gorgeous, but I like the traditional mesh style of the Innsbrucks... time will tell what I decide
For a side note, I had a set of A/G wheels on my E92 M3. Absolutely zero complaints, as I thought they were a huge bang or the buck. I ordered from Modbargains and received them in less than a week.

I have the Rugers and love em. I've had them going on two year now without any issues.
Pick of them on my 09 c4s

Thanks Dang503... Did you have any issues with the 17mm splined wheel bolts? Not sure why A/G uses the tuner bolts VS the factory stuff. I was told the counter bores for the spline bolts have close clearance and can damage the finish if your not careful. Also, do the OE center caps fit the A/G Ruger? The 09 C4S sets perfect, your offset and height is just rite. What springs did you use? Thanks for your feedback.

Roadent,
No issues. Not sure what size the lugs where but the shop I ordered from sent matte black ones with my wheels. They fit fine, no issues. Haven't had any damage to my wheels, and had to have them removed/put back on multiple times due to a bad TPMS (and also a recent nail in the tire...)
The tires came with the center caps as well. OEM center caps wont fit.
I have no after market springs, just a C4S and that's how it sits.
The wheels were staggered:
19x8 5x130 +45 71.6
19x11 5x130 +40 71.6
Hope that helps.

Dang503,
Thanks for the feedback... My main concern was the spline wheel bolts VS the factory style. This doesent sound like an issue. The A/G Ruger 19" wheels look great and have perfect offset. How would they fit if a set of Techart springs were installed?? Would you have proper tire clearance. I am also looking to lower the ride height by about an inch.

I don't have much room on my wheels between fender and tire. Car's in shop right now but when I get it back (thursday or friday) i'll take a pic.
Basically, I can barely fit my key in the gap if I slide it in sideways.
Question back at ya, what model are you throwing these on? I have a C4S with sports chrono. I believe it's 10mm lower then C4S w/out chrono?

dang503,
Wheels are going on a 2008 Carrera S Cab, no chrono. The plan is to use the 19" A/G Rugers with Techart springs. I am hoping to have good tire clearance without doing any body modification. I have been told to go with the Techarts, they lower about 1" and will not sag. HR's will lower by 1.5" and drop further with time. This is not an everyday driver but would like a forgiving ride. I have owned low cars in the past and they can be a pain in the *** to drive.
