I can't even find this part for sale. Quick search here turned up nada.

Honestly, all I did was touch the silly thing and it went flying.

Part source and a D.Y.I. earns my gratitude and respect.

Call your local P dealer. They are the ones that are going to get you the part.

I have been living with a bad trunk release button for a year.
My dad was boring one day, and he took of the part and check the small chip inside.
After his DIY wiring then put the chip back then press the release button, the trunk opened!

My local Porsche (Rusnak Pasadena) dealer rocks! Called and they asked me to bring the car in. 10 minutes later, I was on my way with a brand new switch installed.

OUTSTANDING For that I'd most certainly drop off random beers with the mechanic and service manager. (OT) It's a darn shame more folks don't take pride in what they do.

I just got my replacement (OEM) part. It's too cold to install, the plastic might crack. Things should warm up soon. It will be nice to have the option again.

Just ordered a new switch from Suncoast. $77. A mechanic broke it initially, but it still worked fine. Father-in-law just broke it for good.
People think it's a cable release and pull on it with tons of force. I really don't like anyone to touch my car. I think I'm getting to be cranky in my old age - totally intolerant.
I'm glad it's less than $100 and probably a very easy fix.
thanks to the link to the other forum - that was helpful, too
