Talking 997S PCA Club Coupe

I just sold my 2005 Carrera and ordered a 2006 Carrera S -- the 911 Club Coupe in Azzuro California (blue metallic). I was one of the 48 people selected by Porsche North America to buy one of the 50 cars being made.

The 911 Club Coupe has 381 Bhp (X51 power package), PSM, PASM, sport steering wheel, sport shifter and the sport chrono package. I added PCCB, power sport seats, navigation, leather sun visors, and the Bose with a 6-disk CD changer. I chose stone gray for the interior.

The 911CC compares as follows:

381 Bhp, verus 355 (C2S), 380 (GT3)
306 Torque, versus 295 (C2S), 285 (GT3)
0-60 = 4.4, versus 4.6 (C2S), 4.3 (GT3)
Top Speed = 186, versus 182 (C2s), 190 (GT3)

The expected delivery is January 2006. I am one happy PCA member!

What sets the Club Coupe apart from the rest?

It seems as though all the options on the club can be purchased on a C2S.

J:

That is awesome. Great talking to you on the phone today.

The added horsepower will definitely be noticeable and I would have to imagine that you will be one of the very few in CA to own this car.

The color is killer!

I'll keep you posted on German Autofest!

You get the X51 kit that is not yet available on any model and a *****in cool carbon fiber intake. Plus the color is exclusive and very beautiful.

Congrats--I won one of the 48 slots also. And I didn't have to sell a Porsche--as fate would have it, my 01 Turbo was at the end of its balloon and I turned it in to Porsche Financial on Aug 20th, and placed my order last Friday (took Porsche long enough to get the order guide and form out--geez!!!!)

That puts one in Texas and one in Cali.

Where did you find out about the Jan. 2006 delivery date? I'm still waiting for my dealer to advise me.

As for my order, it was as follows:

TG Sand Beige Interior
249 Tiptronic (must have; cannnot work clutch pedal for physical reasons)
M6N Floor mats
P01L Adaptive Sport Seats
XTV Door Finishers in leather
CFA Tiptronic Shift Gate in Leather (not in guide but PCNA confirmed it's available).

Listened to Bose--hated it and passed. No sense carting around a subwoofer in the back and having to put the Bass setting at minus 3 to tolerate the darn thing.

Also, lest one forget, the price at 99,911 before options is a bargain. Comparably equipped and not adding anything for the paint, a 997S with X51 will run at least $5,000 more based on the 06 Order Guide.

Plus I really like the color, as Porsche's color palette is getting pretty boring these days.

Well--you cannot buy the color or the unique appointments (Club Coupe Door sills, and number plaque); and priced with the same options, a C2S will cost you $5,000 more presuming you pick one of the no charge base colors.

So I look at the X51 on the Club Coupe as only outrageously priced, as opposed to the $16,900 price you'll fork over on a C2S, which is insanely priced

The Jan 2006 delivery date is an estimate by the dealer. They will let me know when Porsche gives them a better date.

By the way, I changed the stone gray interior to black.
