Dilemma............

Question for you guys, i am torn on between what i want to do, looking to add a car.

the cars i have are in my signature, heres my dilemma. i am looking at either buying another 930 since there values are sticking and rising or a 997 2S/4S. I have a RR SuperCharge that i drive everyday/everywhere. The two 911's i have i put maybe 500 miles a year on them each if that. If i buy a 930 it would be the same, a weekend joy that i probably won't lose a penny on when i decide to sell/trade. Or, i can by a 997S and flip/flop between my RR and 997s since it is easily a DD

Thoughts?

997S all day. Get a 2S coupe with a stick and the right options and you shouldn't feel much of a loss when you go to sell, either

The NA cars from 2006 and up are just about as sound as you could ask for. Any 997 with a fresh serpentine belt and water pump is gonna be good to go!

Based on your post, I don't see why you'd get yet another air cooled just to sit around when you could actually enjoy DD'ing a 911. The 997 S is an amazing machine with DD capabilities as many people here do drive theirs daily.

As far as pricing goes, if you stick to a gen 1 model with lower to mid miles, you should be fine as far as resale goes. The 997 S models pretty much tend to plateau in the low to mid 40's with decent mileage and in good condition.

I bought my .1 2S with 39k miles and now have 45k. I am sure that in another year with 55k I will be able to get out what I paid. Just make sure you get a good deal and take excellent care of your machine

997 prices are still going to drop. If you're looking for an investment... the 930 is probably a better bet. If you're looking for something to daily... and don't mind losing value, i'd get the 997. At least you'd drive it.

I had the same dilemma but the the combination of my desire to drive it often, wife drivable (hence PDK), and reliable/relatively fast track car, I ended up with a 997.2 base carrera (much cheaper than S, lighter than S, slightly less hp but made up with less weight), currently with 21k miles.
