I decided to replace clear with black. Used a steamer to remove the old clear guards - worked great! Then the usual application method - clean, wet and apply. The only problem I had was getting the vinyl to conform and stick to the countour towards the bottom door corner of the guards. Just used my hand with pressure and repitition until it stuck.

I am a fan of black stone guards. Mine are black carbon fiber magnetic ones. Super easy to remove and they stay on perfectly. Easy to adjust the look. Here are some pics. Hope the look comes through from the iPhone pics.

"Mine are black carbon fiber magnetic ones". I like the look on your cab. I have the same car and would like to emulate you. Did you use the mag guards over the existing clear or did you remove the clears? Lastly, where did you get the carbon fiber guards? Thanks.

Thanks! I got them at Magnagrafik. Dan is super responsive there and will take good care of you. For the moment, they are applied directly over the OEM clear ones. The sizes don't quite align, so I am planning on removing the clear ones as soon as I can get to it.

Also, I ordered some "Carrera S" black carbon fiber magnet text to go one the lower door like the GTS. They said no one ever asked for magnetic text like that before so it's a test. Should look really cool with the same theme. And if it doesn't look good, it's magnetic! So easy to take off.

Upon closer inspection this morning (with a grazing light) I found several bubbles, was able to push these out with a credit card except for 1 small one on each side toward the bottom middle.

Any suggestions? I think the problem is that the adhesive is too strong around the perimeter of the bubble and as such I can not move it. I though of using some heat, but am afraid this would compromise the adhesive in secure areas.

I did not use a grazing light to inspect yesterday while still very wet; should have! Next time.

If it's just one bubble, perhaps you could use a thin sharp pin to pop it; it should not be noticeable at all after you press/smooth the stone guard down.
