991 chrono/clock swap.... Anyone done it?

I for one don't hate the chrono wart, but I would prefer it do something useful. Which brings me to my question: can the 991 sc clock be retrofitted easily to the 997? It's a nice looking piece and it does something practical.... Tells time! I would like to have one in place of mine and function properly.

Thoughts?

slammp is infamous around these parts
Search on here. There was a recent write up by a member who installed his own chrono on a car without. He used a digital display that was really nice looking.

My intention was to use the new 991 chrono clock/stopwatch as when your just driving, it at least is in use as a clock and should be lit and doing something...

Call me old fashioned but I do miss having a volt/amp meter.

The chrono is nice but since I don't track, it is just a deco for me.

If there was a high end analog clock that would fit that area i would also do it as that timer does not have a use for me.
