Need Some Opinions--GTS to M6GC?

Hello all,

I currently own a 12' GTS cab which has around 6k miles.

Looks like I have a baby on the way, and although I have an everyday car...actually JEEP (wrangler )....I may want to have a more sporty alternative that I can actually drive my baby with vs being confined to the Jeep when needed to take the baby with me.

This idea is very new, as I love my GTS...however I wanted to get some thoughts. Prior to the porsche, I was always a BMW guy...with e46 & e92 M3's.

The M6 Grancoupe interests me..and perhaps the new e63 merc. The panamera GTS is an option, however when I build it...it becomes far too $$ esp with the new baby on the way.

What are your thoughts?

Congrats on the baby! I would keep the GTS because you will regret it if you trade for a sedan. Keep the Jeep as your DD, and get a baby seat for the 911, especially if it is just a weekend car. Someone else went through the same dilemma on this forum: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-car-seat.html

Good luck!

I can guarantee that you will never want to put a baby in the 911 when you have such easy access to the jeep. I have a jeep, and f250, and a 911 all with car seats and now the 911 sits in the garage. It was a fun concept to stuff a car seat In the back but WOW what a pain to get a baby in and out.

That's why it's a convertible as it's easier to get the baby in/out.

I too just recently acquired a 2010 GTS Cab and like you I'm expecting a new baby at the end of the March.

Keep the GTS and update the Jeep Wrangler!!!

Same here the sheer excitement from them is priceless.

I have an Odyssey and Inpreza as well. All the cars have car seats. I have 4 little ones (7,5,3,1) and my baby only goes in the van and sedan. In canada, we don't have any car seats that fit 'securely' in the back and the Porsche car seats aren't approved for use here. Personally, I would only install a baby seat in cars that have a universal latch system.

Like others have said, you have the jeep. I would either keep that or upgrade that

A 3 and 5 year old is a completely different situation from a newborn. Not even close to comparable.

My seven year old twins love the 911. We use it as a family car on weekends and even do road trips in it. It'll be tough for the first few years because of the rear facing seat and what not , but once you're in a booster you're golden.

personally i think you might really regret selling the GTS... why not just swap the wrangler with something more sporty? An X3 or Macan would get the offroad job done while still being pretty fun to drive.

BTW…. Congrats!

You'll also need a private place to think. A 911 on a canyon run is a perfect place for reflection and growth. A new father needs that.

I don't think a baby gives a hoot what it's in. The jeep would be more than enough. Babies are great and congratulations but they don't need to be driven in a $100K plus car.

Keep the GTS and pickup a used E90 M3? Chances are... when the kid young, you'll probably just drive the wife's car.
