hey brothers. just did a brake flush and it is so easy. no problems encountered. all one needs is an 11mm box wrench, 1/4 drive torque wrench to 90 in lbs with the corresponding 11mm socket, 1/2 drive torque to 96 ft lbs and the wrench for the wheel bolts. of course the pressure bleeder. it takes less than an hour and even if you use the same color brake fluid you will know if you have the new fluid passing through. the fluid gets clearer than the old one. good to know youv done the right job. recommend not spending on this one on the stealership

Congrats! I really enjoy this level of DIY.

The savings is really nice. But what I really like is inspecting the other components while in there with the wheel off. Check tire tread wear patterns, wheel condition including inner rim for bends and rash, wheel weights, brake pads, clean the calipers, suspension links, etc. I once found a screw on the inner sidewall of the tire during a brake bleed. No idea how it got there. No air leaking at the time but a disaster waiting to happen.

Hmm thats a good idea to add these inspections when doing the fluid flush. I never thought of that. I did the flush like a pit stop finishing everything is record time....well record time for me hahaha.

lol! Yes I've had that image in my mind too. Especially with the light weight race jack I use to lift the car, pretending it's a pit stop at Indy....

Another image is having your kid help, holding the lug bolts and such. It brings to mind that scene in "A Christmas Story" .... FFFFUUUUUDDDGGGEEE!

good job! I posted a DIY under that section for this job and hoped many would learn to do this service themselves.

What was the purpose of removing the wheels? I did mine with them on the car.

i just felt it would be easier with the tires removed… cerbo, brother, our diy, indicates iside bleeder first then outside bleeder. nobody disagrees with starting with the farthest wheel but there seem to be some instructions saying outside bleeder first. i put up another post just for that. lets see what it will come out with. read porsche manual and there is no specific instruction which to start with. might not be important might be. i really do not know. hopefully we will know. but i did the outside first and there seem to be good results

niki66 is infamous around these parts
I thought I read where you cannot bleed the brakes yourself if your car has PSM. You need some kind of software to open the PSM valves. Is this correct?

Believe it or not, one of the head tech guys at PFC told me to open both simultaneously. I never quite understood what he was explaining but he said race teams will have 2 guys on it.
