2006 C2S cabriolet with 67k miles...what expect with upcoming maintenance?

I've been going back and forth with the original owner of a cobalt blue 06 C2S convertible with 67k miles. He's willing to let it go for $35k, but I'm trying to decide if I'm better off paying more for for a lower mileage example?

At 67k miles, what should I expect in terms of maintenance? It's still on the original clutch, how much would it cost to replace it? Any other major service items?

You need to compare the service history on the car with the maintenance schedule before you can determine what it will need. There is no way for anyone to diagnose the cars service needs sight unseen over internet. As for the clutch, they go when they go and cost between $ 2500-3000 to replace. YMMV.

major maintenances are every 4 years. so 2014-2006=8 years. so I would bet you are due for major maintenance.
major maintenance is pretty much the best PPI you can get... :-)

Major maintenance kits are available from suncoast porsche
called 72k kit and is about 255 USD (if you are a DYI guy)
If not count around 1500 at Dealership
I would also ask about the brakes, if not done, then consider the need for brake pads and rotors at this age.
And start saving yr 2.5 k for the clutch it might be at 70 or 80+ as has been documented in this forum by many.
Good luck

Records are vital here. The water pump could fail at any time, and a recent replacement would be nice ($300+). The alternator cable usually fails resulting in slow starting and not restarting after engine is warm (~$1100). I had both replaced on my 2006 in the last year or so under my aftermarket warranty. I'm actually looking forward to replacing the coils and plugs as I've heard the performance boost (recovery) is very noticeable. You definitely want a PPI on a car with that many miles. A warranty is highly recommended too if you aren't comfortable budgeting for expensive repairs. If you get hit with all of these things plus brakes, clutch, and major service, your looking at $10k. But at least you would know where you stand with the car and all of the new parts. $35k is probably NOT your exposure on a car like this.

must have done it yourself. AFAIK at indy, water pump replacement can cost close to $1k

OP at that mileage, prob need a belt and plugs (if not done already) and perhaps brakes & rotors. Clutch life varies where and how its driven.

84k on my 05 C2, replaced the water pump(preventative) also did the spark plugs, replaced the alternator cable, lower engine pulley. Replaced the brake pads front and back. So you can count on having to do all this. Price would run about the same if you get this one and spend $3k-$5k for all this or put the money into one with lower miles, and still have to replace or fix these things later. Your choice.

Thank you all for the kind comments!
I forgot to mention that the previous owner installed a OEM GT3 limited slip differentiations as well. I will be adding this to the list of goodies in the original post.
PM's replied.

Cheers!
