Why did I sell this car???!!!

Hello all,

I sold this immaculate 997S with factory Aerokit last year. At the time I needed something more economical for work and have been kicking myself ever since! Since then, my title has changed and I no longer need a commuter or something with four doors. I am looking to replace this beauty, so please let me know if anyone is letting go of a 997S with aerokit, full leather, sport chrono plus and PSE. I am sick to think about all the options this car had. I really don't think it's possible to replace, as the original sticker was $106K.

Greg

It took me a solid 6 months to find my factory aero 996 back in the day. They do pop up, I got lucky and found one like 40 miles from the house. I had been looking all over the country for a specific color and transmission. Just keep your ear to the ground.

I learned a long time ago that if the words, "practical" or "economical" enter into my thought process when deciding to buy or sell a car I've had a serious lapse of self awareness.

And boy am I glad I bought my car before you realized your mistake! I just picked up this Lapis Blue and tan with aero two weeks ago.

I think I initially saw it on ebay. It was at Marshall Goldman in Cleveland, OH. I discussed with several car people about the price, spoke to the original owner and negotiated with Goldman for ~2 weeks before we came to an agreement and then I pulled the trigger. I sure am glad nobody bought it as I was negotiating. Last week I met a person here on 6speed that was also negotiating on the same car.

Marshall Goldman has an amazing selection of exotic sports cars. Most are unique by their color combos or options. A really high end dealership. When we went to pick up the car there was easily $100M worth on the showroom floor. Saleen S7, McLarens, Aventador, LFA, 20 or so Ferraris, etc...

that listing must have been written by an infant. if anyone pays $64k for that car they better get the lube ready, bc they're about to get fcked, and not in a good way.

NADA has it at high 40's retail which reflects mileage and options listed.

Based on what I've looked at over the past several months I would say $58k on the high end if in excellent condition.
Of course we all know it's worth what someone is willing to pay. If it's the color combo and options you want then it may be worth paying more.

And NADA is always right. lol.

Naturally, It's worth what someone will pay. I paid a touch over $50 for mine with similar options, but I REALLY liked the color combo, Lapis Blue over Tan.

Not sure if red and tan will bring any premium. I don't think the car is worth $64K either, but I wouldn't base the true market value on NADA.
