991 Saga

Anyone seen this? Crazy! First I have heard of anything quite this bad on any car let alone a 991.

Poor guy. Porsche should simply replace his car, no questions asked.

Surprised Porsche is letting this go on, but again they ignored IMS issues forever as well!

I am going to assume they don't have Lemon Law.

Pretty sad. I am surprised that Porsche doesn't realize the damage that the internet could do with this type of videos.

I don't understand why anyone is surprised. Porsche makes great cars but their management style and attitude towards customers always sucked and always reeked of arrogance. A Rennlist member got a nasty letter from PCNA's legal department after posting pictures of his Porsche memorabilia items on his private website. And one of the longest threads ever on Rennlist - maybe the longest - dealt with PCNA's total failure to confront the largest volume Porsche dealership in the world after selling a CPO certified car that clearly should never had been certified. Massive smearing of the brand and their corporate culture day in and day out and they just didn't care. http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...-poor-car.html

Guess the 997 was THE last 911. Especially given that it's also the last 911 with hydraulic assisted steering, not electronic.

I've been following this and the 991GT3 disaster and concur that Porsche is really, in my opinion, poorly managing their existing customer base. With the introduction of the four doors porsche has lost its core values in the pursuit of increased sales numbers. There are many examples of just how short sighted that can be.

This is horrible. And with 600,000+ views, as well as being posted all over Porsche FB page, it makes Porsche look like fools. He is in North America, he needs to get a Lemon Law Lawyer. I feel terrible for him.

The easiest thing to do would be for Porsche to replace the car with a like model. In October of 2013, I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. The vehicle was fitted with trim pieces over the fenders. They looked great, but after about three weeks, they started coming off. It turns out they are attached with double-sided tape. After a couple of weak offers to fix the problem, I offered the dealer/Jeep the opportunity to replace the vehicle. I suggested they take my Summit with a 6 cylinder and give me an Overland model with the 8 cylinder.

To my pleasant surprise, within a week, they agreed. About 10 days later I took the Summit to the dealer and traded it for the Overland. My problems were not nearly as severe as this Porsche owner, but I think Chrysler and the dealer (Bettenhausen Chrysler/Jeep) did a great job and the right thing.

Porsche should do that with this car.

Sad that Porsche does not stand up and do the right thing. Very disappointing as a long time Porsche owner who has owned over 10 cars so far. I have always eyed the Audi...........
