Yep these are the HRE Flow Forms FF01. They look even better in person. I wanted to go forged but had to buy them in a pinch. My previous (forged) wheels had been stolen and I needed a new set that I didn't have to wait 4 months for to be built.

And I have been thru a few cars since. Honestly, making the switch to Porsche I have not looked back. I loved my m3, and the other M BMWs I had but as the saying goes "Porsche. There is no substitute." I do wish I could keep my 335i as a daily driver and I will miss it. In regards to 911 vs m3, the m3 is a bit more functional with more storage space and backseats that can actually be used for adults. But that V8 is a gas guzzler. The e9xs are amazing and the v8 is classic but can't match the Porsche build quality and driving feel (in my opinion). I think both cars will hold up well out of warranty, though I would probably feel a bit more confident in the 911 to do so (but it's all about the individual car and some will be better than others). There will be 2013 e90s cpod through 2018 if you do try a 911 for a bit and decide to switch back. I went with a 997 for that reason. that I could find one CPOd for peace of mind not that I am really worked. Mine will take me to 2017 but others up till 2018 and at that point I may consider a 991.2. Are you considering the new m3/m4? I think BMW has made another winner and maybe one day I will find myself in an M again but only when I can afford it and a Porsche hah.
You guys are really talking me into taking the dive.

One thing I didnt consider is the fact that if I wanted to I could easily turn around and flip this car if I decided it wasnt for me... but i don't think that will be the case.

Back on the subject of the Red C4S - I told the dealer today that I was going to "pass" (hehe) and they are bending over to sell me this car.. I'm not sure if its because they are desperate to sell or what the deal is here.

They are now at the price point that I was pushing for and are even going to arrange having the car sent to a warehouse in Dallas so that I don't have to drive 11 hours to go check it out, at no obligation to me - if I don't like it I can back out of the deal.

I called a local Porsche dealership and had them run the VIN on the car and the thing is LOADED. Navi / Sport Chrono Plus / heated seats & steering wheel? and the PDK transmission just to name a few... They are also writing up some proposals on a 3rd party extended warranty for the car.

I think what I'll do is have them ship it to Dallas and i'll take it to a local Porsche dealer for a PPI to get some peace of mind. IF all checks out then I think I might be making the jump! Gah!

We here at 6speed only want to help. Honestly, I know very little compared to the guys on here (so helpful and insightful). Getting all the bells and whistles at a great price is the best. If they are really providing you a money back guarantee if you don't want it that's definitely worth consideration. I do find it interesting that they are pushing to sell it so hard and willing to drop the price so quickly. In my experience the Porsche dealership salesmen definitely follow-up quickly/repetitively but only in a few instances have really been able/willing to move the price. The PPI should definitely help qualm any fears. Hope it turns out well if you go that route.

I have owned enough of these cars to have learned a lesson or two. So here is my advise. You do not live in the middle of nowhere so buy your 1st Porsche from a Porsche dealer (CPO'd) that you can look in the face and a car you car drive before you buy. Like all cars some have issues the issues on these things can be very expensive! Be patient. There are plenty of these cars out there (they are not that rare). Once you drive a few of them you will probably notice subtle differences in the cars like the way the clutch feels or the sounds you hear at highway speed. I will not ask your budget but don't make the mistake of buying the cheapest thing out there just to get the nameplate. Most of all drive a RWD drive car as well, personally the only thing I'd ever do (and I have many times) with an AWD Porsche (or any AWD sports car) is convert it to RWD. Good luck.

as far as your original question about buying a "repaired" Porsche, I hope you have better insight now.

I want to agree with a previous post.. Patience and due diligence researching and buying the right Porsche can save you $1000's in the long run. We all have a "budget" and drive ourselves crazy weighing the pro's and con's over spending too much that it may affect the other important things we have to pay for every month.

I just want to add by saying... Peace of mind is priceless. Making excuses to your friends and family as to why you purchased a particular Porsche is not a good place to be. "could of, should of, would of" conversations suck. I have seen several friends purchase porsche's with less options and higher mileage then they wanted and then are always making excuses for why its so good with less. then they spend $1000s in upgrades and maintenance They never seem truly happy and if they are, they are faking it They should have spent the little extra in the beginning and got exactly what they wanted.

As far as your dealer seeming desparate... There are many reasons dealers have to dump cars. Most dealers buy cars on credit lines. Everyday this car sits on the lot they are paying flooring costs and interest. At some point the profit margin is gone and its time to dump it or sell it to another dealer for a loss. Or, like you may suspect, maybe they know it's a lemon and you are the first serious buyer. Either way, Porsche certified inspection and warranty are a must. Ask your dealer to double check the vin# for a warranty. I have purchased a couple of porsches with 1 or 2 years of cpo warranties still left on the vin#

best of luck...be patient and get the color, model, and options you want. peace of mind is priceless!
The 4S models rear hips look awesome

Just FYI: With Porsche CPOs, the CPO will only transfer in private party sales. Any sale through a licensed dealership nullifies any remaining CPO warranty.

Not correct! CPO will be transferred if you buying it from a Porsche dealership. I bought mine from a Porsche dealership and the remainder of the CPO transfers to the new owner. All you need is to send a notification to Porsche of America and they will transfer the CPO under your name at no additional cost.

These are good points. I usually have purchased my cars through private parties... so that's why I had no issues using the remaining cpo warranty with my dealer. Although I did ask my service adviser if I should fill out paper work and have warranty transferred ... He told me not to worry about it.. He's just cool that way to me but you should definitely look into it and ask...
