Question Crossing the line?

Ok, so my wifes uncle got into a fender bender this weekend in his GT3 RS and they are replacing front and rear bumpers. The bumpers are repairable and I want them bad...

The body shop said I could have them, but I don't want to perpetrate with a "FAKE" GT3 look.

This is a great opportunity for me to upgrade to 997.2 tail as well as exhaust.

Would it be sacreligous to put the bumpers on my car and order the RS wing to match?

As long as I don't badge it as a "GT3" wouldn't it be acceptable?

I know this is a HEATED subject with Porsche owners so I really want to know what you guys think...

I don't think so provided you don't throw a GT3 badge on the car.

No badge = OK by me. But isn't the GT3 RS a widebody? Your sig says you have a 2S (narrow body). Would the bumpers fit?

I don't know... I though the bumpers all bolted up the same, just the wheel arches were deeper?

Besides the crazy colors what other factors make it so you can distinguish a center exhaust GT3 from a GT3 RS?

The bumper is Definitely an RS bumper, it has a HUGE "RS" stamped on the inside.

Rear quarter panels on wide bodies are 1.5" wider per side so I doubt the bumper would work.

Well I screwed myself, I bought a center exit exhaust, 997.2 taillights and now the rear bumper won't work...

Does anybody make a 997.2 GT3 style rear bumper with center exit exhaust???

I remember seeing a post from someone who took a turbo rear bumper, cut a strip down the center and reattached the 2 halvs for a perfect fit... lots of labor
