Tyre pressure

Had a look at some threads still have a few Q's...

I guess 33/39 is the general option for tyre pressure right?

The sticker on the door is for full load only right? Is 33/39 correct if it's just the driver?

What does cold pressure mean? Does it refer to ambient temps?

Cheers

No matter what combo you choose (33/39 or something else), it would be the tire pressure in the morning (or after 2-4 hours of being parked).

I normally check my oil and tires when I wake up on Sundays.

Ah, so you're referring to the temp of the tyres when you say cold pressure?

68 degrees to be exact...you would adjust the psi more or less depending on your cold ' ambient temperature. I have a chart for this but can't seem to find it at the moment

Correct. Hot tires=hot air inside the tires=higher pressure.

Btw, your 33/39 cold tire pressure will go up as soon as you start driving for a while.

Ok, so I will check the tyre pressure when the temp is around 20 c

Assuming I do, 33/39 spot on at this temp?

My sticker is at 37/44. I do mine at 3PSI less (34/41) after reading numerous threads. Note that it might be safer if you follow what the factory recommends.

Also note that the dash tire pressure monitoring values may not match your tire pressure gauge. At least on mine, the computer is lower. And yes, my tire gauges are accurate.

You may also try to go the dealer (or a similar place) since they use Nitrogen. Nitrogen is more stable that regular air. (I am too cheap: I use regular air).

Isnt the sticker for full load only?

I was told reg air is fine for street, nitrogen/helium for track use.

+1 good point, invest in a good tire pressure gauge as the TPMS always reads lower.

cab, my sticker is the same as yours at 37/44. Are you running 305's or 295's in the rears?

Regular air has always worked for me btw

we used nitrogen in jet tires in the Marine Corp because the pressure stayed constant at quickly changing altitude extremes. No real advantage in automobiles under normal circumstances to justify the expense or inconvenience of finding it.

Since it seems you may not have the manual, please see attached. Note that the pressures are slightly different depending on several factors.

Thanks storm, I can see now why people are doing 33/39, taking 1 psi off if it's just the driver, as 34/40 is for 2 people.
