Cabriolet hydraulic fluid

I never realised the power roof used hydraulic fluid, has anyone ever topped theirs up or replaced? This isn't a serviced item but I am guessing since my car is heading towards 10 years old it would have to either be low or could do with a replacement..anyone serviced their cabriolet hydraulic fluid?

Good question on the maintenance part, no service needed yet.

I'm looking into it, apparently you need a syringe and tube to extract the fluid and fill her back up. Also it looks like a good opportunity to clean the carpet in the roof compartment as it has to come out in order to access the hydraulic fluid.

I've got plenty of experience fiddling around with my 996's cabrio hydraulics, and they're basically the same as the 997.
I don't see any reason to flush the fluid if things are still working. If you develop a slow leak you can refill with Pentosin CHF 11S fluid. Napa stocks it. If you can hear the pump pushing through air, then you're low on fluid. If you have a bigger leak (usually one of the rams, and you'll most often see a puddle on one side of the car or the other where you park), Google will find you companies that will rebuild your hydraulic piston for a fraction of the cost of a new piston at the dealership.

It really can be opening a can of worms once you start working on your cabrio hydraulics, so it's one of those 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' things in my opinion.
