06, 22K, original belt,,,time to change it I figured.

anyone with the smallest mechanical aptitude can do it,,amazingly simple..take off air box, and use 24mm on tensioner and it comes right off,install new and you are done...Pelican has good write up and you tube has movies..

 

22K and you need to change it? mine looks brand new and it has 114K...
Yes, belt changes on the 996 and 997/997.2 is pretty easy

 

write ups or links to a 997.2 change. I have seen one for 996 but not 997.2

Well if its an 06 that puts it at 8-9 year old belt - rotating or not that synthetic starts to get brittle, etc.. so a time based replacement may also be warranted.

 

yes belt was 8 yrs old,,,for$30 it is cheap insurance, just one less thing to go wrong..
